Political Bashing: It's Getting Old

I'd like to talk about the white elephant in the room for United States today. That is the political propaganda going on in the media. I am not going to discuss political views or who I am going to vote for. What I want to talk about is at what point in our nation's history did we stop voting for things that we are for and start focusing on the things that we are against? All you see on TV during election times is one candidate bashing another candidate on their views. I think we should stop harping on the negatives and try to portray what we can do the help our current situation. I can't even watch a TV show or movie without seeing a campaign ad bashing the other candidate about everything they can find. Our country has become so negative that all we look for is the bad qualities in people instead of trying to find what good qualities they have to offer to help us improve our living situation. I just hope that we as Americans can bounce back from this and make the changes needed to have a postive future for our children.

Giving It A Shot

So…I’ve decided to give this thing called blogging a shot. I plan to use this tool as an avenue to get what’s on my mind out to the far, desolate and even close to home parts of the world. I am not here to be graded by English majors or people who want to critique my writing skills. I just want to write for the sake of writing. If you have an issue with that then I suggest you stop reading now and move on to the next blogger. Anyways, enough about that, let’s just start with a little bit of information on “who” I am and “what” I do.

My name is Joshua Dodson and I am 27 years young. I have a beautiful wife (Crystal) and two dogs. One is a Golden Retriever (buddy) and the other is a Greyhound Husky mix (Chance). I love my family very much and I am blessed to have them by my side. I tend to be a glass half full type of guy. A lot of my friends call me “Stone Cold Dodson” because I tend to take everything with a grain of salt and nothing really bothers me. I currently work for the United States Coast Guard as an Information Systems Technician. I love what I do and I am very proud to serve for my country and what it stands for.

I created this blog to express my views and opinions on why the world is so angry and negative. Everyone from the media to even Facebook post always seems to be that of negative nature. So as I progress in my blog discussions and rants, if you feel that you have anything to add good or bad please feel free to do so as I am open to other people’s opinions as well. Like I stated before this is an express of me and it might be wrong, it might be right, but one thing for sure it’s going to be from my perspective.  Thanks for reading and I hope you enjoy what you read.
